The authors provide the main statistics of the Russian book publishing in 2020, analyzing the output indicators of printed publications and trends in the publishing industry in Russia.

The article presents an analysis of the results of questioning among the Russian booksellers to clear up the situation with the most popular children’s books among the buyers of book titles and their authors in 2020.

The article discusses the differences between the interstate standard GOST 7.60–2003 ‘Editions. Basic types. Terms and definitions’ and the new national standard of the same name GOST R 7.0.60–2020, concerning both the composition of terms and their definitions and the structure of these documents.

The methodological base of the developed national standard SIBID, which regulates the design of bibliographic references of quoting or mentioning electronic documents posted in the Internet, is considered. The range of tasks solved by the standard is determined. Features of compiling a bibliographic reference to various types of electronic documents are shown.

The article presents the contribution of the faculty of information and library technologies of the Kemerovo State Institute of Culture to the development of information analytics. The authors identified the stages of development of information analytics at the institute from 1970 to the present. The work describes the activity of the faculty in the formation of information and analytical competencies among students, the evolution of their research potential in the field of information analytics.

The conceptual and categorical potential of information axiology is revealed through the broad concept of ‘selectivity’, which allows us to see more specifically the motivational and value structure of information consumption. The connection of selectivity with the socio-essential concepts of culture, bibliographic interiorization, manipulation, etc. is shown.

The article presents an analysis of the subject of electronic information resources of special libraries for the blinds in Russia, examines the specifics of the formation, development prospects and promotion channels of electronic information resources.

The advantages and disadvantages of the system of information support for volunteer activity existing in Russia are analyzed. The results of the research by the author of the information needs of volunteers of the Saint Petersburg volunteers movement «Our future in our hands» are presented. The directions for improving of information support for volunteering are proposed.

The article suggests that the main ideas of the founder of the Russian theory of bibliography O.P. Korshunov (1926–2013) are now in oblivion. GOST ‘Bibliography. Bibliographic resources. Terms and definitions’ in the main positions unreasonably departed from the fundamental foundations of bibliography laid by O.P. Korshunov.

Quantitative indicators of book publishing in Siberia and the Far East at the end of the 18–19th centuries were calculated and analyzed in general, for individual cities of the region and printing houses. The theme of the publishing repertoire has been reconstructed. A list of published authors has been compiled. Examples of circulations are presented. The main trends in the development of regional book have been identified.

On the example of foreign countries, the issues of scientific and methodological developments, as well as technical and organizational solutions in emergency situations for the rescue of library and archival collections are considered. Instructional, methodological and regulatory materials for the preservation and restoration of library collections affected by floods and fires are analyzed.
