PROBLEMS. FACTS. SOLUTIONS
The article deals with the problem of highlighting of the bibliographic aspects in the practice of documentation management and in the management documentaries. The methods of bibliographic compression of management information are considered. The task is set in the model bibliographic representation of a large volume of management documents.
The article deals with the problem of preparing a textbook as the main means of transmitting basic knowledge in a particular discipline. Its key functions are defined, the elements of the classical structural scheme of the university textbook are proposed and characterized. The article describes the need to prepare and publish textbooks of a new generation in the direction of ‘Library and information activities’. Significant characteristics of specialized textbooks are proposed and highlighted, and universal requirements for the writing and design of their text are formulated. Special attention is paid to the presentation of the completed series of textbooks ‘Bachelor of Library and Information Activities’, which was initiated by the Educational and methodological council of Russian universities for library and information education in partnership with the publishing house ‘Profession’ and reflects current knowledge in the main basic academic disciplines.
The article presents the results of an expert survey devoted to the diagnosis of the demand for the works of a prominent bibliographer E.K. Bespalova (1930–2007) in the libraries of the subjects of the Russian Federation and scientific libraries of cultural universities.
DISCUSSIONS AND SPECULATIONS
The article is devoted to the possibilities of using materials of the Scientific electronic library ELibrary as a source of bibliographic information in the research work of specialists in the humanities (primarily historians). The features of the structure and content of an electronic resource that determine the methods and techniques of working with its information are considered.
TRIBUNE FOR YOUTH
The author describes a new type of the country’s independent publishing houses and their characteristics, both quantitative (print run, publishing package volume) and qualitative (e.g. specialization). Also publishing projects run by independent bookstores in Moscow, St Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod are analyzed.
MEMORIAL DATES
Quantitative indicators of the presence of books with the works of F.M. Dostoevsky in Siberian and Far Eastern libraries in the prerevolutionary period are calculated and analyzed. Lifetime and most often found publications are identified, as well as publishers whose products were presented in the libraries of the region. The main channels for the acquisition of library funds and the prices for some publications are indicated. The demand of the writer’s works among users of libraries in the region, including comparison with other authors, is presented.
